Siebel
tops Fortune's list of
America's Fastest-Growing Companies
Technology and industrial companies dominate FORTUNE's
annual list of America's Fastest-Growing Companies, with Web-based customer services
software manufacturer Siebel Systems taking the top spot boasting a three-year
earnings-per-share growth average of 146%. With the exception of Meritage,
builder of mid-level and luxury homes (No.2), and cooking gadget manufacturer Salton (tied
for No. 5), software companies also swept the top five rankings: interactive software
maker THQ is at No. 3; Network Appliance, producer of data management software, came in at
No. 4; and Citrix Systems, creator of server-based software, is at No. 5. If you'd like to

Engagement
Profile -University of Michigan
Arthur Andersen will partner with Siebel Systems, in the first joint effort since the
announced alliance last May, to deliver a Customer Care system with internet capabilities
for the University of Michigan Alumni Association (UMAA). This project follows two
previous engagements at the UMAA, where AA conducted a strategic planning project to
establish the long-terms goals of the association and a customer care needs assessment to
determine the information and process requirements of a new system. The project will last
5 months and includes the design, development, testing and implementation of the Siebel
Sales, Order Entry, Office, Thin Client and eSales modules to name a few. The website will
be developed by the Chicago office Strategic Technologies group and will offer alumni the
ability to sign-up and purchase memberships online, register for programs and activities
online, update and verify alumni information with the new customer care system, and create
secure sites for online educational offerings. If you have relations with an Alumni
Association that may be interested in a similar project, please contact Christine E.
Brezina for more details at (312) 507-4372.

Education and Training
The first internal Siebel Boot Camp has just been completed! Here's
an excerpt from one of the classes participants - Sam Priolo! "While most ERP classes cover just system functionality, Siebel
bootcamp reviews system functionality and the technical infrastructure behind the
software. Learning the software's functionality is mostly covered in the pre-work, so make
sure to do all of your pre-work! Also, since this was a three week course, I was able to
build a network of colleagues on an international scale - similar to the types of
relationships created during BC2000 or the NCP. Lets not forget Vikas Puri, who is an
excellent instructor and does an excellent job of presenting a lot of material in a short
period of time." Sam Priolo - Chicago Office Do you know
someone that wants to attend Siebel training? Contact Vikas Puri the Global Siebel
Training Manager (612-340-6128 or 332-6128) for details and course schedules. You
